Passing of our Board member, Mr. Mahalingum Dhaya Govender

SCNPDI is sad to learn of the passing of Mr. Mahalingum Dhaya Govender. Dhaya served as General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Education Labour Relations Council (ELRC) and was a founding member of the Public Service Co-ordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC).

The SADTU Curtis Nkondo Professional Development Institute (SCNPDI) through the established Teacher Union Collaboration (TUC) can confirm that training for the 2019-2020 financial year is “loading”.

Specialising in the growth of teacher competencies and helping teachers improve their work, the SADTU Curtis Nkondo Professional Development Institute (SCNPDI), has been one of the leading vehicles for teacher professional development within the South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU).

The SADTU National Congress in 2006 resolved to establish the SADTU Curtis Nkondo Professional Development Institute (SCNPDI), which is intended to serve as a vehicle through which SADTU can contribute meaningfully to the professional development (PD) of teachers in South Africa.
